MERRY CHRISTMAS from the GLA Main House Nurseries :)
The preschool classroom was full of Christmas cheer yesterday morning as the children enjoyed their Christmas party. Walking into the room full of kids wearing adorable santa hats was enough to melt anyone's heart! We began the morning in prayer, followed by singing a few well known Christmas songs, in Creole. The kids had a blast clapping their hands, jumping up and down, and singing at the top of their lungs!
The food was delicious and festive too...Madame Francoise prepared a pasta salad and the sweets were plentiful. The kiddos could not get enough of the cheese puffs, hard candies, cake, and frosted sugar cookies. They enjoyed sharing their yummy snacks with each other, and sharing their messes too!
The staff also continued with our traditions of packing gifts for the nannies and other Haitian staff. We spent the day sorting through and stuffing bags full of gifts, and then adding lots of other goodies like rice and beans. The staff will pick up their gifts on their way home in the next few mornings, and I cannot wait to see the joy on their faces!
Wishing you all a fantastic Christmas season as we remember the reason we celebrate....the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13)
