So, today, I want to talk about diapers. Yeah, diapers. They smell good before they go on but afterwards...... not so much.
Why do I want to talk about diapers?
Because with 75 kids in diapers, we use a LOT of them.
Because diapers cost, last time I checked, about 4 times as much in Haiti as they do in the United States.
Because, when the snow thaws and we're ready to send the artificial turf down for the playground, we're going to have room on the container for about 500 boxes of diapers.
And since the turf is in Michigan, we're going to be sending the container from Michigan.
Will you help us get 500 boxes of diapers? Ideally, within the next 60 days - because that's probably how long it will take for the turf to thaw out.
I'll have a lot more ideas coming out on the blog over the next week, but in a nutshell, here's what we need:
We need 500 boxes of diapers sent to my office - God's Littlest Angels c/o Tom Vanderwell 2260 Rosewood St. Jenison, MI 49428.
In addition to that, we need approximately $.25 per diaper to cover the cost of shipping the turf (all 20,000 lbs of it) and the diapers down to Haiti. So, if you send/drop off a box of diapers that has 50 diapers in it, can you also include $12.50 towards the shipping costs?
If you have the ability to come up with a large amount and need assistance in getting them here, call me at (616) 292-7559 or e-mail me.
On behalf of the kids, especially the ones still in diapers, thank you for your help.
