Milouse is about to turn 3 years old. Her level of curiosity is matched only by her boundless amounts of energy! Milouse has Downs Syndrome, and as is common with many Downs children, she is happy almost all of the time. And although her development is delayed by her genetic condition, we are confident Milouse will continue to reach milestones. She is not yet walking, but she pulls to stand on her own. When you take her hands to walk she gets so excited she rapidly hops up and down, very bunny like, but won't calm down long enough to actually practice walking!
Milouse has been at GLA since she was only a few months old. Her mother brought her to GLA because she either did not have the desire or ability to care for her, as is often the case with children with disabilities in Haiti. Whatever the reason her mother brought her, we love caring for Milouse. Her nannies think she is the funniest girl, she entertains them daily with her exuberant personality. She rarely throws fits, and is almost always content.
Milouse is another child who needs a family. We are trying hard to highlight the children in our care who are a little different, but deserve the love, permanence, security and stability that only a family can provide. Each unique little spirit deserves the chance to thrive surrounded by people who will love them for who they are, and for the rest of their lives! Milouse deserves it!
Pray for Milouse, that her family will be lead to her soon. We believe that God has a specific family in store for every one of our children. We wait patiently and expectantly for the Lord to reveal them!
